Welcome to Pediatric Dentistry South

At pediatric Dentistry South we believe that every child deserves a “dental home” from the time their first tooth erupts throughout their formative years. Given the chance, children can experience pleasant appointments and maintain good oral health which is so important for overall health and development.

Dr. Judy Robinson follows a simple and effective three step philosophy for all of her young patients

She uses the TELL, SHOW, DO Method

Dr. Robinson TELLS the children how she will be cleaning their teeth while comforting them in the dental chair.

Then she SHOWS the children how she will clean their teeth with her helpful pal, Mr. Monkey.

And finally Dr. Robinson cleans the child’s teeth just how she had explained the process to them.

This process helps the children to feel comfortable while getting their teeth cleaned. Most dentists will dive right in and start cleaning the child’s teeth. While Dr. Robinson feels that if the children are aware of how she will be cleaning their teeth then they will be more comfortable in the dental chair.

This method also helps the children to understand all of the different instruments Dr. Robinson will use on their teeth and it helps them to learn the purposes of these tools. This method is also a key component in the children being able learn how to take care of their teeth while they are at home in between visits to the dentist. Which in the long run will lead to healthier, stronger looking teeth and gums.

Wishing you a Safe and Successful School Year

Dr. Robinson and her staff would like to wish all of you a very safe and successful new school year.

Caring for Your New Babies’ Teeth

Dr. Robinson and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommend that your child see the dentist by the age of one year. This is a very important “well baby checkup” for their teeth. At this visit Dr. Robinson will exam your child’s teeth checking for decay and development. She will also go over how to properly brush your child’s teeth, oral habits that they may have, and fluoride needs. Please feel free to bring your camera for pictures to mark this special event. This early visit will begin a lifetime of good dental habits.

Please call our office to schedule an appointment.

Forensic Odontology in Albuquerue NM

Dr. Robinson just completed a Forensic Odontology course in May of 2011. Although none of us want to foresee another 911 tragedy, Dr. Robinson will now be able to help with personal identification and she will be able to bring closure to families affected by tragedies.

Give Kids a Smile Day

February 3rd was the tenth anniversary for “Give kids a smile day”, an annual event that provides dental care and education to undeserved children in our area. This is also the tenth year Dr. Judy Robinson and her staff have participated. We are happy to report that we had a great turnout this year and we had a great time.
